Meerkat's at Planet Boabab

With Felicitee, Mum (Sandra) and Tony.

We have been to Planet Boabab a few times and always enjoy it.
It is just outside Gweta and is hard to miss with a giant aardvark and signs marking the turn off.

We stayed in the lodge rooms on this trip, but they have great camp sites as well.
The rooms are unusual, the beds and most of the furniture are made from concrete....

The bar area is awesome, concrete, cow hide and old photos. Nice and cool under the lapa (thatched Roof). I love the beer bottle chandelier.

Another unusual feature is the lounge they have in the sitting area.... looks real but it is also concrete!

There is also an unusually large pool for the desert......

But, one of the main reasons for coming here is the Meerkats.
It's an early start to get out to the edge of the pan where they live. You get a poncho to help keep you warm but you need to wear plenty of layers to keep out the cold.
We saw ostrich, zebra and jackal's on the trip out.

Then you get to the meerkats. So much fun!!!!!!
We have done it before, but seeing Felicitee, Mum and Tony enjoy it for the first time was great.
The stiller you stay the closer they come.
